Incredibles 2 is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated superhero film, and is the direct sequel to the 2004 film The Incredibles. It is in production by Pixar Animation Studios, and will be released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is being written and directed by Brad Bird, the writer and director of the first film, and features Holly Hunter, Craig T. Nelson, Sarah Vowell and Samuel L. Jacksonall reprising their roles. The film is scheduled to be released on June 15, 2018 and will be given an IMAX release.
Incredibles 2 features the return of the Parrs, a family of “Supers” (humans with super abilities). This film will focus on Helen Parr(Holly Hunter), also known as Elastigirl, while her husband Bob (Craig T. Nelson) remains at home to watch their children Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner), and Jack-Jack. The family struggles to maintain normal lives while they remain unaware of Jack-Jack’s powers. However, they, along with Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) will have to battle a new villain with a sinister plot. The sequel will start immediately after the end of the first film, according to Pixar’s chief creative officer John Lasseter, where the Parrs are just about to face The Underminer (John Ratzenberger).
The film was originally scheduled for theatrical release on June 21, 2019, but the film was moved earlier to June 15, 2018, while its former 2019 release date was taken by Toy Story 4, which was lagging in production compared to this film. On February 22, 2017, Incredibles 2 was announced to be given an IMAX 3D release as part of Disney’s new distribution deal with IMAX
